Grey time under the colorful umbrellas
One month ago, on 14 September 2023, a massive fire broke at midnight in Mohammadpur Krishi Market, a bustling local business hub. All the shops selling vegetables, cosmetics, clothes, and groceries were reduced to ashes.
Today, shop owners are working diligently to rebuild their lives. Some have lost their entire life savings, while others find solace under the colorful umbrellas.
The debris has been cleared, and the ashes removed. However, the future remains uncertain. Some say a 12-storey building will stand there, others predict a 2-storey structure, and some hope for the market's old structure to return.

The seven jinn mosque: a mystery of Bhandaria
"Those 7 person built this mosque 200-300 years ago. I heard that from my father and grandfather. Although my father did not pray in this mosque, my grandfather did." Said by Yeasin Mia, a dweller of Bhandaria upazila, Pirojpur.
The seven person mentioned by Yasin are actually not human but jinn (a spirit believe in Islam that inhabiting the earth but unseen by humans). The whole Bhandaria upazila people say the same thing and they called this mosque as 'Saat Jineer Masjid.'
It is believed that this mosque was built miraculously in one night 200 or 300 years ago. Currently, a settlement has been built next to the mosque. Interestingly, 5 of those 7 mosques have no trace of ruins. Only two mosques are visible now. While one of the mosques is maintained, the condition of the other is dire.
The roots of the banyan tree nestle in the walls of the abandoned mosque and the marbles of the mosque have been stolen. Muddy soil and small and large tree forests and swamps all around. Seeing the mosque gives a feeling of ghostliness.
"5/6 years ago,at the end of the school hours,i used to walk by the mosques and it always seemed mysterious to me.The structure and the roots embracing it made it much more adventurous back then. We really used to believe people's myths or theories about the mosques. One of which was you have to enter it with someone or holding someone's hand as if it was a haunted house. Those postulations made us even more intriguing to explore them." Said Tahsin Irteza, an undergraduate student from Bhandaria.

Panthapath circle's Mohammad Hannan is the media's new favourite tea-seller.
The reason for his fame is that he has been selling tea for 7 years, unlike regular tong makers, in formal attire – ironed pants, shirts and shoes. Ever since he went viral on social media, TV journalists are crowding in; stories on the internet about this 'smart tea seller' are garnering views.
If you drink his tea and have a chat with him of late, Hannan will sing his heart out with one after another Kumar Sanu songs (read happiness), which you might have listened to in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Black Soldier Fly: a new hope in agriculture
"Amid increasing price of poultry and aquaculture feed, and concerns over substandard as well as toxic feed, black soldier flies can be the best and cheapest alternative," Duranta claimed, working in his organic farm on 100-bigha land in Keraniganj, Dhaka.
The Sonamati Agro farm owner, also the ex-general secretary of the Jahangirnagar university unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, said this particular form of insect farming has two benefits: sourcing nutrient-rich animal feed and cleaning the environment through an insect-based waste management process.

The cycle of darkness
We know education is the light.Education is the path to freedom. Some are do not want to get education with all the facilities.on the other hand some are want education but can't get .Yes,talking about the slums children.
There are more than 5000 slums in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. And there are more than 300000 people lives in these slums. But it goes without saying that there are no schools in the slums for education. May be there are one or two schools of different NGO's. If there is a school so what? Thinking about their children's hunger parents forget about their education. The daily income of slums families is only $1 or little more. So the children of slums not only deprived from the education also deprived from human fundamental rights. Parents involve their children in various job to alleviate the lack of family and most jobs are risky. Not only for poverty but their parents are uneducated so they don't think much about their children's education. In this way, slum dwellers remain uneducated from generation to generation. So they are no longer free from their misery. Besides, they will involve in various crimes. This is how their life goes on.In a word, their future is dark. And this darkness works as a cycle for them.

Bangladesh is one of the fastest-growing countries of internet users in Asia, with government data showing more than 50% of its population actively use the medium. Among internet users, Facebook is the most popular social networking platform. In 2017, a study by We Are Social and Hootsuite found that Bangladesh's capital Dhaka was the city with the second largest number of active Facebook users.
Due to social media a news is now spreading very fast all over the country even in the world. Even when there is a big movement happens in the country, the participants from the movement try to reach out their activities to the people through Facebook Live, Photos and Status etc. Social media has given us many benefits. Through this we can convey a good message to the society, establish something good and it is happening like one person does a good deed and another gets inspired and does another good deed.
But sadly, social media, especially Facebook, is largely responsible for spreading rumors in our society. Even these rumors have led to bloodshed. Earlier, in June,2019 a rumor spread on Facebook that a bridge under-construction required human sacrifices as offerings and consequently people were looking for children to kidnap. Agitated mobs in Bangladesh beat several people on the street to death after suspecting them of being kidnappers.

Mentality and Responsibility!!
National Martyrs' Memorial (Jatiya Smriti Saudha)is the national monument of Bangladesh set up in the memory of those who died in the Bangladesh Liberation War.The architecture is composed of seven pairs of triangular-shaped walls or prisms. Each of these seven pairs of walls represents a significant chapter in the history of Bangladesh, namely the Language Movement in 1952, the provincial election victory of the United Front in 1954, the Constitution Movement in 1956, the movement against Education Commission in 1962, 6-point Movement in 1966, the Mass Uprising in 1969, and finally the climactic event of Liberation War in 1971, through which Bangladesh was liberated.
The National Marty's Memorial is a open place for all.Everyone can visit this place without any cost. But this place occasionally lacks maintenance.
The most important days for this place are Independence Day on March 26 and Victory Day on December 16.Thousands of people come to the national memorial at these days.Even on these important days, there is a lack of maintenance. Here are some photographs taken at the National Marty's Memorial on last year's Victory Day 16th December 2019.Some people are seen climbing over the National Marty's Monument and standing on the monument they are taking pictures, taking selfies, someone standing on top and looking around. This is a huge disgrace to the martyrs.

Before 1971,we can't speak.
After 1971,We can fly.
The year 1971 is a memorable chapter for today’s Bangladesh. This is the chapter of victory and sacrifice. On 16 December 1971,today’s Bangladesh achieved victory. So many things have to be sacrificed to achieve victory.About 3 million people lost their lives in this liberation war. The mother lost her son or the son lost his mother to those Pakistani hyenas.Prior to 1971, Pakistanis had taken away all rights to see and speak. They have brutally tortured us as much as they could. But through the great liberation war of 1971 we brought back these rights.Today we are free.Today we can speak, we can fly in the sky. There is no one to stop us.All the credit of our freedom goes to those brave warriors. Huge respect and love for them.
